![]() ![]() Operation Round Up’s goal is to address the needs of our service area, to designate available dollars where it can optimize the impact and to provide cost-effective assistance to worthwhile organizations and projects with local significance. Grants are used by local agencies committed to the following categories: helping families succeed responding to emergencies preparing for the future and enriching our communities. Grants are allocated in proportion to the amount of contributions provided by the membership in each county. Emergency Relief- organized relief programs for victims of home fires and/or natural disasters, etc.ġ00 percent of the contributions to Operation Round Up are awarded as grants directly benefiting residents of NGEMC’s seven-county service area.Family Stabilization and Crisis Prevention- affordable or subsidized care, transportation, mental health counseling, drug addiction rehabilitation, domestic violence sheltering, sexual assault response and counseling, health and medical aid and assistance, etc.Services for the Homeless- programs and services that prevent or end homelessness, rent assistance programs, emergency shelter programs, rapid-rehousing programs, permanent supportive housing programs, and clothing closets.Hunger Relief- local food banks, food pantries, soup kitchens, school- and after-school-based child feeding and nutrition programs that provide free or subsidized food to local at-risk populations.For example, preference will be given to requests from non-profit organizations seeking grants pertaining to: During the COVID-19 pandemic, North Georgia EMC Foundation's grantmaking priorities will focus on stabilizing individuals and families by ensuring their basic needs are met addressing challenges such as food and housing insecurity supporting nonprofit organizations and charities who provide low-cost or no-cost medical (physical and mental) treatment for low income individuals who are uninsured or underinsured and helping at-risk veterans and individuals living with disabilities.
